Farm Rules


- Owner agrees to comply with boarding contract and review annually as updates maybe be made at the end of every calendar year. [Boarding Contract Sample].

- All owners must agree to abide by all farm rules.

- All horse must have, upon arrival, a current negative coggins.

- All horses must have, upon arrival, proof of Flu, Rabies, West Nile, and Tetanus/E&W Encephalomyelitis vaccinations. Other vaccinations are optional. Note: Strangles is only recommended for horses under 10 years old (twice yearly).  Flu, EWE, tetanus and West Nile are recommended twice yearly.

- All owners agree their horse will be kept up-to-date (at the owners expense) on the following vaccinations: Flu, Rabies, West Nile, and Tetanus/E&W Encephalomyelitis. Other vaccinations are optional. Note: Strangles is only recommended for horses under 10 years old (twice yearly).  Flu, EWE, tetanus and West Nile are recommended twice yearly.

- All new horses may be isolated for 5 consecutive days following their arrival to monitor their adjustment to the new surroundings and to observe any behavior or medical problems they might have.

- All horses must be on our deworming program. Rotating dewormer will be administered every 6 weeks.

- All horses must have their teeth checked on an annual basis and floated as needed. (At the owners expense)

- All horse must have their feet checked regularly and trimmed as needed. (At the owners expense)

- You are welcome to visit your horse at any time - no appointment necessary, however we ask that no one visit the farm after dark, before 9AM, or on Christmas, Easter, or Thanksgiving days without an appointment.

- No dogs are allowed.

- You are responsible for your guests. Please make sure they follow all boarding rules.

- NO SMOKING is permitted anywhere on the farm.

- Turn off all lights when you leave.

- Please use the water nozzle and try to help conserve on water, in winter disconnect hose from faucets after each use and drain, so they will not freeze.

- Close gates. Leave all gates as you originally found them - if in doubt, close the gate.

- Cruelty to animals will not be tolerated. This includes harsh training methods and punishments that could result in injury to your horse. All horses must have out time daily. No horse will be confined to a stall on a continuous basis unless ordered by a vet for the treatment of an injury.

- Board is due by the 1st of each month. See boarding contact for late fees.

- If you are consistently late, you will be asked to move your horse.

- There is a $25.00 charge for returned checks.

- Board checks should be made out to Traveller's Rest Farm.

- Please be courteous and give a 30 day notice if you will be leaving. There are No Refunds on unused board.

- Trailer Parking is free. Please park in designated areas only.

- If your horse becomes sick or injured and you are not available, we will take the responsibility of calling the vet and the owner will be responsible for any charges incurred.

- No horses should be let loose to graze or roam the farm; always keep control of your horse.

- Please park in designated areas. 

- Please keep the barn and tack room neat and organized.

- No riding of horses on the property is permitted. Oak Ridge Park is at the end of the driveway and across the road.
